Es ist mir ein Bedürfnis euch zu erzählen das die letzten 2 1/2 Jahre ziemlich zu Beginn von Corona die Zeit meines Lebens war. Pünktlich zur Pandemie erschien die so genannte unheilbare Krankheit Fokale Dystonie in meinem Körper. Durch komplette Bewusstseinsveränderung habe ich es geschafft diese Krankheit (Hirnstörung)https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fokale_Dystonie hinter mir zu lassen und wieder angefangen Kora zu spielen. Der Song ist ein Blues song.
Der Text erzählt die Geschichte mit der Verbindung mit dem einem, das immer ist und für alle Zeiten die Quelle ist. Es hat mich geführt aufzuwachen und der zu sein, der ich wirklich bin. Bewusstsein ! Danke an meine Soul Schwester Miriam die immer an mich geglaubt hat. Und so haben wir den Song I AM live nur mit Kora und Slide Gitarre und Gesang eingespielt.

I feel a need to tell you that the last 2 1/2 since the beginning of Corona was a transforming time of my life. In tandem with the pandemic, the so-called incurable disease, Focal Dystonia appeared in my body. Through a complete change of consciousness, I was able to heal myself of this disease. The text tells the story of my connection to the One who is always with me and is the source of life for all time. It has led me to wake up and be who I really am. Consciousness! Thanks to my soul sister Miriama who always believed in me. And so we recorded the song I AM live with only kora, slide guitar and vocals.

Purists may have problems with it when German musicians like the “white griot” Tormenta Jobarteh who grew up in Munich immerse themselves in a completely different culture acquire craft skills over many years including learning the Kora, language and other strange rituals of an exotic music tradition. Although the often much vaunted “authenticity” is missing, the bandleader succeeded and has managed to produce world music at a high level for over twenty years. He has performed more then a thousand concerts and produced quality recordings, witch can also exist internationally. To mark the 20th anniversary of the band, Jobarteh, together with daughter Yasmina (Vocal,perc) and longtime collaborators Humphrey Cairo (dr,b) Felix Occhionero (g,b) and Gerhard Wagner (sax,fl) present a fourth studio album. “Teriya” brings together on a congenial way music of the Manding, Afrobeat, Reggae, Calypso and Latin flavours. Guests including Roman Bunka (Oud) who brings a middle eastern sound and Sir Lancelot Scott (stellpan) who brings a Caribbean flair.
